Matthew, a native Nashvillian and son of Mark and Brenda Tant, graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2005, where he received his B.S in Human and Organizational Development. Matthew attended Vanderbilt University on a full athletic scholarship, where he played as a Running back/Fullback for the Commodores. After college, Matthew spent almost ten years in the professional staffing industry working his way up through a national recruiting organization from recruiter, account executive, regional executive, to Sr. Leadership. After learning all the ins and outs of the business, Matthew decided to pursue his dreams of building his own company and created a niche Healthcare Clinical and Technology staffing company to assist hospitals with ARRA and Electronic Health Record Implementations called HCTec. As the Founder and CEO of HCTec he guided the company from an idea on a piece of paper to over 500 employees, and through a major recapitalization. Matthew remains an active investor in HCTec today and has built a lifetime of friendships and partnerships throughout his time with the company.
High on his bucket list was the opportunity to work with his family. When the opportunity presented itself to help launch The Tant Companies, Matthew couldn’t resist but getting involved.
Matthew helps The Tant Companies with investor relations, strategy, business development and marketing, and operations. He enjoys meeting with new or prospective clients, recruiting talent to the organization, and helping grow businesses.
Matthew and his wife Kristin have been married 6 years and have one son, Hudson Matthew Tant. Matthew loves to startup companies and entrepreneurs, loves exercising, and loves to travel with his wife and family. Matthew love Jesus, loves his family, loves being a husband and father, and loves to help others see their dreams and passions come to life.
Matthews favorite quote comes from the Bible out of Proverbs 3: 5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
